GRANTS PROGRAM |
The New York National Guard Family Readiness Council, Inc. (NYNGFRC, Inc.) grant programs were created to provide financial assistance to members of the New York Organized Militia. Organized Militia includes Air and Army National Guard, New York Guard and Naval Militia whose immediate families experience financial hardships during the Service Member's period of service. |
The Wounded Warrior Grant is to provide money to a family member of the New York National Guard Soldier or Airman, to help with temporary relocation expenses due to the hospitalization of the Service Member because of a war related injury caused during their deployment. The injury is classified as Very Seriously Wounded, Injured or III (VSI) or Seriously Wounded, Injured or III (SI). When the grant criteria is, met the money is automatically awarded. |
The In Need Grant is for Service Members who are experiencing a financial hardship. The application must be completed in its entirety by the Service Member or an immediate family member. In order to be eligible the Service Member must currently be in the New York Organized Militia and in good standing with the unit. All completed grant applications will be reviewed and grants awarded based on need as determined by the Grant Committee. |
A completed grant application, with supporting documentation, received by the Grant Committee on or before the 20th of the month will be reviewed at the following NYNGFRC, Inc. meeting, typically the first Tuesday of each month. When the grant application is approved the check will be mailed following the meeting. Incomplete applications open for two months will be closed and applicants will be notified the application has been closed. |
In Need Grants are limited to no more than $500 per application. The total amount of any grants awarded to qualified applicants may not exceed $1000 per family for 24 months from the date of the first grant. NYNGFRC, Inc., at its discretion, may waive the 24 month restriction when in its judgment extenuating circumstances merit such action. | |
The application is available in a PDF format. Please complete the application, include supporting documentation and submit to the following address: |
